The Animal Protection Society of Durham handles more than 6,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens each year. Every day we provide safe, clean living quarters for hundreds of animals that come into our shelter. In addition to providing shelter to animals, we also provide low-cost rabies and microchip clinics to the public and educational programs to local schools and civic groups.

We are a non-profit organization that relies on donations from individuals in the community in order to fund these programs. It costs more than $600,000 to operate the shelter each year so every donation helps!

DIFFERENT WAYS TO DONATE TO THE APS:

GENERAL FUND
Your donation helps us to provide the best possible care for the animals in our shelter.

MEDICAL CENTER
Donations support the APS Medical Center. Spay/neuter surgeries are performed in the medical center on all animals adopted from the Durham County Animal Shelter.

TIFFANY FUND
The Tiffany Fund is used to pay for special and emergency medical care for animals in need.  For more information on the Tiffany Fund click here.

GIFT IN THE NAME OF LOVED ONES
Wishing to give a gift in the name of loved ones, family, friends or pets? Click on the link to make a donation and enter the information in the space labeled for acknowledging your gift to loved ones on the online donation form. You can list the name of the person or pet that you wish to honor or memorialize. (When acknowledging gifts to third parties no amounts will be listed.)
