In an effort to better serve our community the Animal Protection Society of Durham will no longer accept animals from outside of Durham County lines. We’ve made this decision after great consideration for everyone this may affect. We feel strongly that this change will allow us to help more animals and people.
To that end, starting Monday, August 6th, only animals belonging to Durham residents and stray animals found in Durham County will be admitted into the Durham County Animal Shelter. Proof of address will be required.
For residents outside of Durham County, please contact your local shelter.
