  • APS welcomes new Board President

The APS of Durham is pleased to announce that Carolyn Paige has been elected the new Board President. She will be taking over the position from Susan Teer who is now filling the role of Vice-President joined by Kari Linfors as Treasurer and Phyllis Moore as Secretary.

Carolyn has been active with the APS of Durham since 2003 and has given a huge amount of time and energy with the Education Committee, the Public Relations Committee and the Development Committee as well as being a Board member and Board Secretary. Carolyn understands the challenges we face and is committed to tackling pet overpopulation. About the APS, Carolyn says “The APS of Durham is a wonderful team of Board members, staff and volunteers that are dedicated to helping the animals that come to the shelter. But we also work hard to help promote the spaying and neutering of animals to reduce the pet overpopulation in our community. We all strive toward reducing and hopefully someday eliminating the euthanasia of adoptable animals. Please come find your next pet from the APS of Durham and tell your friends to visit us, too.”

Carolyn is originally from central New York, attended Villanova and went on to receive an MBA from Drexel University. She has worked for 25 years in the financial and investment business and now, with her husband Don, owns Paige Design Group, a company that designs track & field facilities for universities nationwide. They are proud to be working on the Durham County Stadium project in our hometown. Don and Carolyn live in Bahama with three dogs; one Newfie/Lab/Chow mix adopted from the APS and 2 rescued Bernese Mt Dogs.

Carolyn’s hard work, her encouraging personality and her dedication to improve the lives of animals in our area will suit her well in her newest challenge as Board President.  We wish her all the very best success.
