Durham Dog Parks

Posted

The dogs of Durham are fortunate that through Park and Recreation our city offers great resources for dogs and their owners.

Here is more information from Parks and Rec on the two Durham off-leash dog parks:
Check out what every dog’s been barking about!

Dog owners represent a large (and growing!) segment of the community. And while regular leash walks provide a level of exercise that promotes good dog health, access to open space for off-leash play and socialization is equally important. The Durham Dog Parks are multifunctional facilities designed to offer a safe and controlled environment for dogs and their owners.

Enjoy the parks!

Pineywood Park:

From July 28 – August 3, (weather permitting) the large dog area at Pineywood Park, 400 E. Woodcroft Parkway, will be closed for renovations. Depending on the condition of the ground, large equipment may need to enter through the small dog maintenance gate. Should this be the case, the small dog area will also be closed during this time. Other areas of the park will remain open. For information, call (919) 560-4355.
