APS DOG WASH GOES BONE DRY!
Due to severe drought conditions, this normally
wet event will be replaced by dry activities in order to conserve water. We
hope that you will join us for this great line up of contests, games and
even some pampering for your pooch and help raise money to support the
Animal Protection Society of Durham.
Activities include

Virtual Dog Wash, including a waterless shampooing and a thorough
brushing

Companion Chi Animal Massage by Sue King

Contests (Best Dressed, Best Trick, Best Pet/Owner Look Alike, Best
Kisser) Sign up in advance or at the door.

Tuesday, October 9th 7:00 pm
Join us for a look at the last year at APS and the road ahead. Hear reports
from the Board of Directors and Shelter Staff about adoptions, volunteer
operations, outreach and development.

Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month Join us for an Open House!
Durham County Animal Shelter, 2117 E. Club Blvd , Durham
Saturday, October 13th 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
There will be a number of incentives to encourage people to adopt including
the chance for a free supply of dog food and a complimentary dosage of
Frontline when you adopt a new dog! We will even have a contest in which you
can vote for your favorite dog at the shelter! There will also be tours of
the shelter offered as well as educational demonstrations. A special
training demo will take place at 11:30 am - Watch a shelter dog learn how to
do sit, down, shake, spin, and retrieve a ball.

Saturday, October 27th 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Bring your pet, bring your family and come in costume. Enjoy this carnival
atmosphere with games, prizes, food, contests and more! Featured contests
include “Bobbin for Bones” and “Best Costume” among others. We will also be
accepting entries for Spokesdog at this event. More details to come!
