Every Saturday in Barktoberfest is Fun Day!

October 6th: Barktoberfest Opening Weekend! Come meet loveable pups and enter to win raffle prizes!

October 13th: Ice Cream Social! Oliver’s Collar has provided a freezer full of yummy frozen yogurt treats for dogs! Starting at 12:30pm we’ll need your help to give them out to adoptable dogs. Volunteers will be here to assist in giving treats and making sure every dog gets a turn.

October 20th: Demos with Certified Dog Trainer Jane Marshall, focusing on positive, reward based training.

  • Puppy Play Group &Training from 11am – 12pm.
  • Training Your Shelter Dog; Advice, Q&A and Demonstrations from 12:30pm – 1:30pm

October 27th: Adoptions After Dark. APS will reopen the Durham County Animal Shelter from 6pm – 9pm to give you more time to take advantage of this adoption event! We’ll have raffle prizes and lots of fun!
