The APS of Durham recently launched a program to assist low-income pet owners who need assistance with pet food. As families find it difficult to make ends meet the APS wants to offer help so that animals don’t need to be surrendered at the shelter. Already APS has seen an outpouring of support for this new initiative. The Friends of North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association Foundation presented Susan Teer, Board President, with a $250 check to support this important program. We are grateful to Friends of NCVMA Foundation, any many others, who have donated to help this program become a reality and to the Salvation Army for allowing us to use their resources and expertise. This is another way in which the APS of Durham truly helps both animals and our community as a whole.
