Happy Endings - Bella (adopted August 2006)

We adopted our little Bella in August 2006. She is a 3-year old Poodle-Bischon Frise Mix.
When we adopted her, she was shaved to the skin (see picture). The people at APS had had to have her shaved because her fur was tragically more matted than they had ever seen before on a dog. APS told us she had been given up because the owner could no longer take care of her. She had spent much time outside tied to a tree and was neglected.
We were more than happy to adopt Bella (which is French for "beautiful") because we knew, even though she didn't have any hair, she was a beautiful dog.
And. boy, were we pleasantly surprised to learn it was true!!
Bella is not only beautiful, but she is obedient and a quick learner! We were amazed to find out once she came home that she was actually house-trained and even knew how to fetch and sit on command!
Our experience of adopting a dog from APS was a phenomal one!
We feel so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to adopt such a wonderful dog.
Bella is a dear part of our family and loves to make us laugh! She loves to wake us up in the mornings buy walking on our backs and sticking her tongue deep inside our ears when we least expect it. She also loves riding in the car and going on walks in the park. She has lots of toys and often throws them up and catches them on her own.
Bella is a real treat and we love being her pet parents! :)
