My husband and I adopted Buddy approximately
March of 2001. I have to say he is the best dog ever. He was very thin and
was full of ticks when we adopted him since he had spent all of his life
until then on the streets. He was a great puppy, he never chewed on anything
and never had any mistakes in the house. He was so easy to train to do
anything. He immediately learned to potty in the cow field (on his own), how
to sit, shake, high five, roll-over, heel without a leash and he can play
dead, although he still hasn't learned that you can't wag your tail when you
are dead....lol. I guess can not say enough about our dog. He is great with
our small grandchildren. They climb on him, pull on his ears, take food out
of his mouth and it does not bother him at all. He lets them do whatever
they want to him. He is just so gentle. He takes treats very easy from your
hand. The only thing he doesn't like is a box or something new. Even when we
get new tires on our cars he knows and must bark at them to let them know he
is boss. He loves to ride in the car, he will drive you crazy until you take
him for a ride. If you say you are going for a ride then he is jumping up
and down because he always thinks he is going. Makes you feel guilty if you
can't. He also has 2 cats in the family and 10 cows. He loves to play with
the cats and they sometimes will play with him but not always. The cows he
will bark at but when they turn around he runs. It is quite funny. He is a
great family and farm dog and we don't know what we would do if we didn't
have him.
Thank you so much,
