Happy Endings - Chester (formerly Jasper adopted June 2006)

Hi, my name is CHESTER. But that wasn't always my name. When I was a puppy I lived with some other people, and they were really strict with me, and I didn't have any friends, or any place to play. I wandered away from that family, I don't think they wanted me anymore... and ended up in a place called the shelter, where the people were really cool, but they had a lot of other dogs to take care of besides me. When I was at the shelter, they gave me the name Jasper... because I am a really pretty black lab. I really wanted another family. I also really, really like treats. Then this lady started to visit at the shelter. I really liked her... and I knew she liked me, too... because she always had a little special treat bone in her pocket for me when the rest of the dogs weren't looking. She came to see me a couple of times, and we had lots of fun together. Then she came to see me one day, and she had this other dog with her... a little dog named Louisa, and I think she brought her just to play with me! We had lots of fun... and I was really sad when I thought it was time for her to leave again... but she put me in her big jeep... with the other dog... and took me for a walk (and a hot dog!) at a big park... then we went to this house... and there was food and water for me and Louisa, and a great guy who feeds us and walks us. We mostly play all day... sometimes Louisa barks a lot and I have to keep her out of trouble... but she is my friend, and the people in the house really love me. Sometimes, the lady I live with still gives me my own, special treat from her pocket, when Louisa isn't looking. I really love my new family. I sure am lucky the APS people helped me find my new family.
Here is a picture of Louisa and me!
