Hi Guys,
I've been meaning to send you all an update on two of your former canine
"residents", to let you know how well these guys are doing and how privileged I
am to have them in my life.
#1. Honey - lab/shepherd/chow? mix
I adopted my Honey Bear girl in June, 2005 (Cage #1). I understand that she was
in very bad shape, particularly psychologically, upon arrival at your facility,
but your staff worked with her diligently until she could be provided a new
home.
Honey and I soon enrolled in your Dog Training class with Jane Marshall; with
the help of your staff, namely Heather, we started off on the right foot. Honey
has developed into a wonderful, confident, mellow, sweet, and serene gal. It's
been fun & so satisfying to watch her evolve and settle into her life. I still
love working with her, learning new things, and figuring out what makes her
tick. She is so EASY.
Then, there came--
#2. Calvin, formerly "Barry" - terrier mix
I adopted "The Calvinator" in June/July, 2006. Holy crap. I have always been a
sucker for the crazy/fearless terrier type, but this boy and I almost didn't
make it. Seriously. But we ended up getting loads of wonderful help, support,
and advice from kind people in the area (Brianne from A New Leash on Life, and
trainers Sylvie Pleasant & Kim Bishop).
Calvin is such a fantastic guy; so much personality, love, and intelligence. He
also looks out for his girls (Honey and me). Also noteworthy, he is a *master*
snuggler.
I could bore you with lots of great stories about Honey and Calvin, but I'll
spare you the gory, proud mom details. They are, however, in great health, and
appear to be quite happy. They LOVE their routine, and we sprinkle in lots of
fun surprises, too. They have wonderful godparents and several dear dog friends.
I am so proud of them, and they make me smile/laugh just about everyday. I love,
love, love these creatures--and they love me to pieces too. Crazy!
Thanks very much for all the great & tough work you do and for letting me take
these gorgeous, quirky mutts home with me. They are gems! I'm attaching some
pics--enjoy! And have a blessed, wonderful 2008.
Best Regards,
Jill |
