Hi, I'm Humphrey. I came to the shelter in
January of 2006. When I came to the shelter, I had a really big tumor on my
neck and was heartworm positive. My tumor was removed by the medical staff
at the shelter and after I was adopted, my heartworms were treated. I had to
be quiet for a few weeks after my treatments but my Mom says it wasn't so
hard. She says the little bit of effort to keep me quiet was well worth it
to have such a great dog. Now, I enjoy a good walk around the lake and
running around with the other dogs, Opie, also from the shelter, and Dixie.
But, my favorite thing is trying to sit in Mom's lap while she reads the
newspaper.
If you are thinking about adopting a dog, please think of us older dogs and
don't be afraid of adopting a dog with heartworms.
