Happy Endings
- Molly (adopted February 2008)

When I arrived on the scene of my first (and
last) foster home, I was very shy, scared of everything that moved, as well
as things that didn’t (like stairs), and was having occasional seizures. I
was to spend just a weekend with my foster mom, until she saw what a good
dog I am and asked to keep me longer. As an adult dog, I wasn’t about to
chew up anything or make puddles in her house, bark, or even snap at her
wicked cat no matter how many times I should have (she says).
I think the moment she realized she just couldn’t live without me was when I
said, “Yes, ma’am,” to the cat and lay down beside her little granddaughter
while she played with her dolls in the same day!
Although I have no idea how to play with people or other animals, I do enjoy
a good romp around the house alone, tossing my rawhide in the air and
“chasing” it. I look forward to our daily walks in the neighborhood and have
made some new friends, both canine and human.
Everyone comments about what a cute dog I am, but what they really need to
know is how happy my new owners and I are with each other. And while I still
have a few trust issues with men, I have the benefit of a very patient, kind
man in my new home who is willing to work with me “no matter how long it
takes,” he says.
So here I am, almost two months later, happily adopted, and settling down
for good. I have my Auntie Alison at the shelter to thank for placing me in
the right home with someone she knew would love me.
Life doesn’t get any better than this! |
