Happy Endings - Nellie (adopted Dec. 13, 2008 formerly Bianca)

Dear APS,
We adopted Nellie (aka Bianca) on December 13th. Nellie is one of the
adult Bichon's rescued from the Virginia puppy mill. When she was rescued she
was placed in a foster home because she was a "wet nurse" for a few puppies who needed special care. Her foster mom, Tina Brantley, brought her over for a play date and we immediately decided  to take a chance. This was our first adoption and we were a little hesitant at
first, but now cannot imagine life without her.
Nellie adjusted very quickly and is learning something new every day.
She is already house broken and gives us signals when it's time to potty. It is great to watch her play with toys, bounce around the yard and just be free from such a horrible first 3 years of her life. She is very affectionate and loves to cuddle with us or her new best  buddy, Lily (our other Bichon). We feel blessed to have her in our lives and will always be grateful to Tina and the folks at the Durham APS. We would ask all animal lovers to find a place in there heart  for all the lovely dogs who don't yet have a home. We're sure glad we did!! Here are a few pictures that give you a glimpse of Nellie's new life.
