Happy Endings
- Scooter (adopted December 2007)
|

 |
We adopted Scooter just after Christmas 2007. We
were looking for a dog for my younger son and had quite specific ideas of
what we wanted, but then Scooter's foster Mom, Tina, brought him and his
sister to visit us and it was love at first sight. He was 11 weeks old at
the time and mixture between a fluffy ball and a teddy bear. He came from
the Virginia puppy mill that was closed down, and when Tina fostered him at
5 weeks, his hind legs were so weak he couldn't stand or walk. If you look
at the other happy endings, you will see Nellie: Scooter was one of the
puppies who needed special care, and she was his wet nurse.
You can't tell any of that now. He is such a happy, charming and energetic
puppy racing around the yard with our big dog, Andy, who we adopted from the
Durham APS three years ago. They are great mates and Scooter is a delightful
dog, who is great with people and other dogs alike.
Thank you, Tina, for seeing his potential and helping him through the rough
time, and thank you to all at the Durham APS for all you do.
Sincerely,
Jackie & David MacLeod |
