Gala Committee: APS May Volunteers of the Month.

This month, rather than honor an individual, the APS of Durham would like to honor the entire Gala Committee for the amazing job that was done in planning and organizing this year’s Rock N Roll Over gala and silent auction.

Anyone who was able to attend (it sold out after all!) saw firsthand what an incredible job this special group of volunteers did. From the stunning array of quality items that were up for bidding to the decorations and centerpieces that brought the rock and roll era to life, the seamless execution of the set up, the clean up and the wonderful program of the night itself which including music, dancing, a visit from a number of APS dogs, and lots of smiles and laughs (and let’s not forget money donated to the APS!); the night was a huge success!

The amount of behind the scenes work that went on for months was simply awe inspiring. This year’s Gala raised over $80,000 which is crucial for the APS and the animals we serve.

We are proud to note and honor everyone that played a role in pulling of this special event including Alison Gatherum, Ashlee Smart, Susan Teer, Alice McKenzie, Kelly Mieszkalski, Molly Brown and especially the organizer of this year’s event, Sarah Crawford for her leadership, attention to detail and event planning genius! Thank you each and every one!
