VOLUNTEERS’ PICK OF THE WEEK 3/3/12!!
Calling all Lab lovers!! This handsome puppy is REGGIE, a 7 month old Lab mix who’s everything people love about Labs – smart, outgoing, playful and lots of fun! Though he’s energetic (like all puppies!), he’s also very attentive and focused, so should be a wonderful young dog to train. He does well with other dogs.
Reggie is looking for an active family who’d enjoy including him in all their activities  :-)
Here’s what one of our volunteers has to say about Reggie:
Reggie’s such a ham! He’s such a lovable, playful puppy. He loves to chase toys and when he’s done with that he’ll come galloping over and roll on his back for a good tummy rub. While he’s quite the playful puppy, he’s never rough and he responds well to treats and training.
He already knows sit, is pretty close to getting down to a perfection, and we started working on how to shake. He’ll make a great family pet in an active household, and with some training and obedience classes he’s going to make a wonderful companion.
And another:
Reggie is sweet, goofy, a bit gangly, and certainly a gentleman. He is still figuring out how to walk with his oversized feet (which was quite adorable), but gained his composure once he was off-leash and running around in the exercise pen. He is very food-motivated and is coming along nicely with his tricks (he knows sit and is okay with down).
My favorite part about Reggie is the goofy way he rolls on his back after doing a trick and looks up at you waiting for a belly rub. It’s really hard to resist his expressive eyes and silly grin.
If you are looking for a goof-ball to snuggle and have adventures with, Reggie is for you! And, he’s always dressed to impress in his “tuxedo”
UPDATE!! Reggie has just gone into foster care and is off to a great start! He loves having a fenced yard to race around in, and enjoys having a doggy companion to play with. He’s working on his housetraining and cratetraining skills. Stay tuned for updates  :-)
