Dog Care Tips
DOG TRAINING: The number of animals brought in to shelters because of behavioral problems is high. For this reason the APS provides socialization and training of animals before they are even adopted. Jane Marshall, dog trainer, oversees the temperament testing program.
Every adopter also receives a free DVD produced by the HSUS and Animal Planet to introduce adopters to the proper care of their adopted pet.
We encourage our adopters to have their new puppies or dogs trained. For this reason we are thrilled to have the services of dog trainer Sharon Ashe who offers FREE training classes to adopters! (Others may attend as well for a suggested donation of $10). Please click here for more information about this great opportunity!
New and potential adopters can click here for information about other training classes in our area.
