This handsome big boy is RUDY, an approximately 18 month old American Bulldog mix who’s goofy, playful and very endearing! He loves to play with his toys, like to chase a ball, and is very smart and focused, especially when food treats are on offer(!) He already has a very reliable “sit” and is eager to learn more. He’s excellent with other dogs, and would be best matched with another playful young dog. Rudy is looking for an active home where he’ll have lots of exercise and kind, ongoing training.

Gentleman Rudy:
When I first met Rudy as a dog-walking volunteer, I looked at the big, energetic, playful pup and wondered if he would be hard to handle on the leash. What a surprise when he gently lifted his head for the harness and quietly walked out onto the trail. He was calm and never pulled the whole walk. Being super housetrained, he did his business promptly. Then I took him to the yard, threw a toy, and behold there was his puppy personality! Rudy fetched and romped, then he took the toy between his paws, rolled on his back, and held it like a teddy bear. This was his hint that he’d love a belly rub! And he lay there like an angel while I pet him.
What a terrific companion he would be for someone either with a yard or who likes to take walks or hikes. Housetrained, great on the leash, energetic but not jumpy – what a gentleman!
