Cash Donations: Gifts can be made through credit/debit card transactions, cash, or personal checks, cashier’s checks, or money orders made payable to APS of Durham.

In-Kind Donations: The APS maintains a list of items needed for operation of many aspects of the shelter. Such items include: foods, treats, toys and bedding for dogs and cats: collars and leashes; disinfectant, soap and bleach; latex gloves and medical supplies; mulch for the trail and other exterior areas; and office supplies. Click here for a complete list if items needed and you can drop them off at the shelter during normal business hours.

Other Ways to Support APS

Shop To Give:

The APS of Durham is proud to announce an exciting new fundraising initiative offered by Durham-based Smart Online, and their LoyaltyClicks brand product Shop To Give. Supporters can quickly register then shop on hundreds of online stores, collectively raising thousands of dollars for to support the programs and animals at APS and the Durham County Animal Shelter.  By shopping at stores like1-800 PetMeds, PetSmart, Best Buy & even locally-owned Regulator Bookstore, supporters can get great online deals while knowing they are helping the homeless and neglected animals in our community.

United Way: If your workplace has an annual United Way Campaign you can specify that your gift comes to APS by writing in our name.

Matching Gifts: Double, or even triple, your gift to APS by having your employer match your donation! Thousands of companies offer to match their employee’s charitable contributions. Your company’s Personnel Department can give you more information about their program and should also have the proper forms to complete.

Good Search: Good Search gives you the same search results as Yahoo! search. Although they donate only 50% of the revenue, they give about 1 penny per search to the organization you specify. Surf the internet and help APS at www.goodsearch.com.

Food Lion: Do you have a Food Lion MVP card? Food Lion Shop & Share is the easiest, most convenient way to raise money for APS. Each time you shop at Food Lion and use your MVP card, a portion of your total grocery purchase will be donated to the shelter. Visit the Food Lion website to get details and register your card online.
