Grace is currently in foster care. Here’s what her humans have to say about her:

“”Grace is a fun loving bundle of joy who can’t wait to win over your heart.💝 She loves to play and will make sure you know her feelings with lots of meows. She also is game to curl up and watch a movie, her current favorite being Mulan. Grace is eagerly awaiting her furever home and ready to show the world that adult cats can still be spunky, energetic, and lovable.

Once thought to be dangerous, most FIV+ cats live a normal life. Unfortunately, there is currently no definitive cure for FIV. However, it is important to realize that while it is impossible to predict the survival of a given cat infected with FIV, cats infected with FIV can live very normal, healthy lives for many years if managed appropriately. For a healthy cat diagnosed with FIV, the most important management goals are to reduce their risk of acquiring secondary infections and prevent the spread of FIV to other cats. Both of these goals are best met by keeping cats indoors and isolated from other cats. Although FIV is similar to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and causes a feline disease similar to acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) in humans, it is a highly species-specific virus that infects only felines.
