Personality Color: orange

Orange dogs are likely young, energetic, and enthusiastic with lots of love to give! They will thrive with regular exercise, and some training classes would be a good idea. These dogs would be a great companion for an active person who enjoys running or hiking in the park. Fenced-in yard a plus!

HELLOOOOO! I’m a sweet and sensitive girl who is also active and loves a good play session! I can be timid at first, go slow with me and I’m sure to warm up quick! I like stuffed toys, affection, treats, and being active! I’ll need basic manners, gentle people, confidence building and positive experiences!

Kids: 8+, worried by fast movements, gentle kids

Dogs: appeasing, worried at first, but warms up to gentle sniffing

Amelie, or Emmy, has been spending some time in foster. Here’s what the humans have to say about her:

Emmy is a three-year-old medium-sized, golden brown dog. She is thirty pounds of complete love. Her favorite thing to do is be in your lap and snuggle with you at any hour, she enjoys her relaxation. She loves snuggling in bed and waits for permission before jumping up but is also crate-trained. Emmy goes right into her crate and never complains. She has never barked, growled, or made any noises besides the occasional snore! She is one hundred percent potty trained and will even let you know when she needs to go out. She is amazing on walks, does not pull at all, and is not reactive towards other dogs.

Emmy loves going to the dog park, playing with the other dogs, and playing fetch! She also is very good with kids and enjoys going to the Duke Gardens and meeting all the students on campus. If you take her for a car ride she will be very calm and most likely fall asleep. She gets very excited about meeting new people and will try to give you a big hug! She is the easiest dog I have ever taken care of and you will fall in love with her so quickly! She deserves a loving and caring home that will let her be the biggest cuddle bug!
