Anchovy

Personality Color: blue

Blue dogs are easy going and easily adapt to new situations. They are generally calm, may be playful but not overly exuberant, and will likely be happy doing just about anything with you. These dogs will be a good fit for just about any home, and would be great for first-time dog owners.

Bio data

Well, hello there! I’m a sweet guy who was pretty uncertain when I arrived here, but since I settled in a bit I’m doing great and love being social with people. I’m super affectionate and will give you all the derpy smiles! I like sunbathing (REALLY — if I find a good patch while we’re out walking, I may just stop and drop), play with toys (I’m very partial to stuffies, bonus if they have a squeaky I can dig out), and leaning on you for pets! I’ll need some time to feel comfortable once we get home, but after that I can’t wait to hang out with you doing whatever — I’m easy! Let’s get to know one another today!

Kids: 10+, might be sensitive at first, may guard food and toys (use object exchange for toys)

Dogs: Friendly sniffing, engaged in gentle play

More about Anchovy:

I’m a lovable, chill dude who’d like nothing better than to lie on the couch with my big old head in your lap and get belly rubs all day long! They call me “large,” but honestly “chonky” might be a better description as I’m only a little more than knee-high. Personally, I think my short legs, thick body, enormous noggin, and asymmetrical ears only add to my charm! If not my adorable looks, what’s sure to win you over is my personality — I’m an easygoing, affectionate, endearing guy who will be happy doing just about anything with you. I ride nicely in the car and get along well with people and other dogs, so I’m great to take out on the town — just be ready for me to flop down if I find a good spot to sunbathe!

And a little more!

We took Anchovy to an adoptable dog yoga event because he’s so sweet and lovable, and he’s chill around other dogs. He was perfect there! He greeted people politely and sniffed the dogs and then mostly ignored them. He leaned into folks for pets and gave his belly to anyone who would rub it! He got so comfortable that he closed his eyes for a minute or two — quite appropriate for a yoga class, really! He’s become a go-to for our events because of his calm, sweet demeanor. Honestly, this guy is SUCH a doll — you’ll fall in love when you meet him.
