Nice to meet ya! I’m a snuggly, endearing older guy who loves people. I still enjoy a romp with a tennis ball every now and then, but overall I’m pretty low-key. I’m most interested in your lap and a bag of treats. Take me home today and let’s get cozy!

Atticus is a sweet, sensitive soul with a heart as irresistibly enormous as his head. He adores attention and has thoroughly enjoyed outings to the home improvement store, pet store, running errands around town – he’s as happy as can be to be along for the ride and get pets from all his new friends. He likes the company of gentle dogs, and would be happy to go to a home with a calm dog buddy, but would be equally happy to get all of your attention! He is also doing really well learning how to live with his feline foster brother. He has been very polite with dog savvy children he’s met, waiting patiently for pets and not being pushy about it. He takes treats gently and has learned to sit and wait until given an “ok” when his meals are put down. He sleeps through the night in his crate like a champ, and is fully house-trained. He is very curious about all of the smells and sights when he goes for leash walks, but turns around and sits well when asked, and is unfazed by traffic and walks calmly past fellow walkers (unless they want to pet him, in which case he will GLADLY oblige). At home, Atticus just wants a cozy, comfy place to nap the day away. He wants to be near his people, and hangs out quietly under the desk most of the work day. He’s a fantastic foot warmer 🙂 Atticus is a real gem. At 7, he’s past the puppy shenanigans, knows what’s what, and just wants a chill home to live his very best life.
