Personality Color: green
Green dogs are a bit more shy and sensitive, maybe a little anxious, but are sweet and they try hard. These dogs will flourish with patient adopters providing gentle guidance and confidence building. They are likely too timid for active homes with children, and would do best in a calm, quiet home getting the TLC they deserve.- young

How I got to the shelter: Surrender
Energy: Medium (may be higher at home)
Dogs: Respectful and appeasing; an ideal match as a second dog to a balanced, gentle canine companion.
Kids: Best suited for a calm household with gentle, respectful older kids.
Best Fit Environment: A calm, low-traffic home with patient humans who appreciate peaceful evenings, cozy spaces, and positive guidance.
Just like authentic Dutch speculoos spread, I am warm, comforting, and guaranteed to melt your heart!
I move through life at a thoughtful pace, reading the room and trying my absolute best to understand the assignment and please everyone I meet! The shelter hustle-and-bustle isn’t really my scene; I thrive on calm rituals, a predictable rhythm, and an understanding person who appreciates the art of taking things slow.
Here is a peek into my gentle nature and what I bring to the table:
- Certified Gezellig: The Dutch have a wonderful word for the ultimate warm, heart-soothing feeling of comfort – gezellig – and that is my exact specialty. After some quiet decompression time, my favorite place to be is curled up close, soaking in soft affection and creating an atmosphere of pure peace.
- A Fan of Uitwaaien: There’s a Dutch tradition called uitwaaien – heading out into the fresh air and breeze to clear your mind. That captures my outdoor style perfectly: scenic, unhurried walks where I can gather data on the world at a relaxing clip.
- The Second Dog Dream: Having a steady canine mentor is at the top of my wish list. I watch other pups with keen, polite interest and take wonderful cues from a balanced dog friend who can show me the household ropes.
- Hot Dog Scholar: Cookie butter might be my namesake, but warm hot dog slices are the real secret to my academic heart. I love food puzzles, confidence-building brain games, and positive training sessions where I can earn delicious snacks.
- Private Dining: Just like savoring a fine delicacy, I prefer to enjoy my meals in a quiet retreat without any foot traffic… or an audience.
- Curious Ball Tracker: While squeaky toys are still a slight mystery to me, roll a tennis ball across the floor and my playful puppy curiosity perks right up!
I don’t need a chaotic, fast-paced lifestyle – just a peaceful landing place, an understanding human, and ideally a kind dog buddy to share the daily routine with.
