Personality Color: orange

Orange dogs are likely young, energetic, and enthusiastic with lots of love to give! They will thrive with regular exercise, and some training classes would be a good idea. These dogs would be a great companion for an active person who enjoys running or hiking in the park. Fenced-in yard a plus!

Hi there, it’s nice to meet you! I know I can look a little sour, but it’s just my silly jaw shape and my snaggletooth. I’m really a friendly, smart, curious girl at heart. I’m on the independent side, but I still enjoy being with people. I’d love to have humans to learn and explore with. I’d maybe even like to play once I’m comfortable at home. If you’re a gentle, active person, I hope you’ll come see me!

Kids: 6+, active dog, mindful of size

Dogs: Stiff and concerned; slow and careful intros with calm and gentle dogs

Eleanor recently had a doggy day out, here’s what the humans had to say about her:

Eleanor was a fantastic companion for her 3 recent doggie day outs with me. She rode quietly and patiently in the car and was overjoyed to meet my dogs. She played politely and showed no signs of resource guarding. She was so gentle when taking treats too and knows “sit” and “stay”! Eleanor went on long walks through Duke Park, then hung out at Surf Club where she was so friendly with everyone who greeted her. After sniffing the patio to make sure no crumbs were left behind, she laid down and people-watched for a while. She is a loose leash walker everywhere she goes and simply wagged her tail when passing by other dogs, never reactive or barking! Eleanor never complains when returning to the shelter and is a wonderful “go with the flow” dog. She will make an amazing pup for anyone looking for a gentle, sweet, patient companion.
