Henry

Personality Color: orange

Orange dogs are likely young, energetic, and enthusiastic with lots of love to give! They will thrive with regular exercise, and some training classes would be a good idea. These dogs would be a great companion for an active person who enjoys running or hiking in the park. Fenced-in yard a plus!

Bio data

I may look like a tough guy, but at my heart I’m a real softy! I’m energetic and enthusiastic, friendly, and playful! I really like treats, play, being with my people, learning new skills and exploring! I’ll need some basic things to help me thrive: some basic training, plenty of brain games and exercise, and of course plenty of enrichment! Let’s learn together!

Kids: 10+, mindful of size, jumpy, may steal kids toys, high energy

Dogs: Nervous play, may enjoy wrestling and chase games, slow and careful intros

Read on for a blurb from Henry’s recent doggie-day-out!

A day at the Eno with Henry! My cousins came to visit & I knew a shelter dog outing was just what we wanted. He’s a friendly loving boy who’s never met a stick he didn’t want to CRONCH. Hiking breaks are the perfect opportunity for him to lean against your shins & roll over for belly rubs. He was very friendly to humans, though sometimes a bit jumpy. He was a bit wary of other dogs, but did well on a tight leash as they passed (no barking or lunging). We passed a few joggers on the trail & BOY did that look fun to Henry!! (He was a bit disappointed that the rest of us didn’t share this enthusiasm.) The true sign of a great day out was Henry falling asleep on the car ride back to the shelter.
