Lucy

Personality Color: green

Green dogs are a bit more shy and sensitive, maybe a little anxious, but are sweet and they try hard. These dogs will flourish with patient adopters providing gentle guidance and confidence building. They are likely too timid for active homes with children, and would do best in a calm, quiet home getting the TLC they deserve.

Bio data

Hi, I’m Lucy! I’m a sweet, petite girl (30 lbs.) who is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. I’ve been living with a foster family and have adapted well to the comings and goings of an energetic family and their guests. I love cuddles, playing with toys, treats of any kind, and being around my people — I’m a real lap dog! I already know “sit” but would benefit from further training (sometimes I can’t help but jump up when I’m excited!).

Kids: Any age, go slow, gentle kids

Dogs: A bit dominant, recommend slow intros

Heartworm positive – APS is currently offering heartworm treatment at no additional cost through our foster-to-adopt period.

More about Lucy from her foster:

Lucy is happiest when she’s in someone’s lap! Once she has a little time to get comfortable, she’s very good with people. She seems very intuitive to their feelings — a friend noted that it’s almost as if she senses who “needs” love from her the most, and approaches that person. She’s very endearing!

She sleeps very quietly through the night on a dog bed. We have a kennel set up for her too, and she’ll go into it independently. She also stores some of her toys there! She seems to know that toys like Kongs are for chewing and stuffed toys are to be carried around carefully, not shredded.

She’s a great balance of zoomies and couch potato, all in the cutest little package!
