Orange dogs are likely young, energetic, and enthusiastic with lots of love to give! They will thrive with regular exercise, and some training classes would be a good idea. These dogs would be a great companion for an active person who enjoys running or hiking in the park. Fenced-in yard a plus!

More about Maui Jim from his time in foster care:

🐾 Have you met Maui Jim, aka Jimmy? 🐾

Fresh off his spa day (okay, fine… his neuter on 6/10), Jimmy got to spend the weekend living the good life: cool air conditioning, a comfy couch, and several unsuspecting humans whose laps he was determined to fit into despite being approximately the size of a miniature pony.

And the foster report is in…

⭐ 12/10 cuddle bug
⭐ Professional couch potato
⭐ Expert lap warmer
⭐ Surprisingly gentle leash walker
⭐ Keeps his love language classy: cuddles, not face washes
⭐ Owner of the most dangerously dreamy gray eyes you’ve ever seen

Jimmy is all snuggles, all the time. He walked beautifully on leash with no pulling, did great with kids, wasn’t bothered by loud noises, and never once launched himself onto people. In fact, his biggest vice appears to be thinking the TV remote might be more exciting than a chew toy (don’t worry, he accepted redirection like the gentleman he is).

No furniture chewing. No shoe stealing. No food aggression. Crate training? Coming along nicely. Potty accidents? A couple—but that’s totally normal in a new environment, and this smart boy quickly figured out that outdoor potty breaks come with treats.

Good news for the anti-slobber crowd: Jimmy is a cuddle enthusiast, not a compulsive kisser. He’s also happy to jog alongside you and would likely make an excellent adventure buddy. Sadly, his foster moms had to postpone testing out his Eno hike and swimming skills due to his 10-day post-neuter “no swimming” restriction. Based on his impressive webbed paws, however, we suspect Jimmy may be part pup, part otter, and entirely ready for days on the water.

Jimmy’s ideal day includes lounging dramatically, snoring loudly, collecting belly rubs, gazing into your soul with his soft gray eyes, and convincing everyone he meets that he’s the goodest boy in existence.

Spoiler alert: he might be right. ❤️

If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing best friend who will happily trade his heart for a spot on your couch, Jimmy is your guy!
