Oskar Blues
Personality Color: green
Green dogs are a bit more shy and sensitive, maybe a little anxious, but are sweet and they try hard. These dogs will flourish with patient adopters providing gentle guidance and confidence building. They are likely too timid for active homes with children, and would do best in a calm, quiet home getting the TLC they deserve.- adult

Bio data
Well hello there! I’ve had a rough go recently, but I’m on the mend and ready to get loved on by my furever family! I’m super sweet, affectionate, and curious! I love to sniff and explore, have gentle shoulder rubs, and eat all the treats! I still have some recovering to do, so a quiet home would be very nice. I’ll need lots of gentle affection, some basic training, and positive experiences. Take me home today!
Kids: 8+, still needs time to recover, gentle kids
Dogs: Stiff and wary, slow intros with very gentle dogs
More about Oskar Blues from his time in foster:
Think Clifford the Big Red Dog … but brown. And with the biggest block head you’ve ever seen.
Oskar is handsome in that “giant teddy bear who doesn’t know how big he is” kind of way. He’s got the head, the drool, the occasional hiccups — and the sweetest eyes that just look at you as though he’s trying to figure out if this is finally his person.
His story didn’t start out so hot. He came into the shelter as a stray with very serious injuries, unable to walk on his own. He needed stitches in his hip and had very deep wounds on his left rear ankle and his tail — we had to crop it. He’s been through more than he should have — and he needs ongoing care for that back leg — but you wouldn’t know it from his attitude. He’s gentle. Soft. Quietly brave.
He’s social with people and really enjoys being around them. He warms up to friendly dogs and does well with respectful pups.
He’s crate trained. He loves food. Loves treats. Like … really loves them. He needs a little coaxing to get in the car on his own, but once he’s in, he settles down just fine.
Oskar is just a good dog. A big, brown, slightly drooly, resilient good dog who deserves a soft place to land. He may not be a storybook character like Clifford, but he’s our very own big brown dog, and he’s ready for someone to choose him. 🤎🐾
