Pearl
Personality Color: green
Green dogs are a bit more shy and sensitive, maybe a little anxious, but are sweet and they try hard. These dogs will flourish with patient adopters providing gentle guidance and confidence building. They are likely too timid for active homes with children, and would do best in a calm, quiet home getting the TLC they deserve.- adult

Hi! I’m Pearl here at APS, and I’m also a diamond in the rough! I’m currently enjoying the good life with a foster family. I might start out a bit shy, but I warm up quick and LOVE to play and have fun — just toss me a ball or a stuffy and watch me go! I’m a sweet girl who will really thrive in a calm home with lots of toys and opportunities to play! I’ll need some reassurance and confidence building at first, and gentle people, and I’d benefit from some basic training and positive experiences. Come visit me today and go home with a precious gem!
Kids: 8+, gentle kids, go slow
Dogs: Friendly sniffing, offers play, enjoys a chase partner
More about Pearl from her foster:
Pearl has blossomed in foster care in such a short time; it’s been truly special to watch! With a little safety, consistency, and downtime, her gentle, affectionate nature has started to shine through in the sweetest ways. She’s the kind of dog who just wants to be close to her people, soaking up love and giving it right back.
At about 3 years old, Pearl still has that young dog spark and curiosity, paired with a calm, cuddly side. She’s already mastered the basics: sit, polite leash walking, crate training, and potty training. She’s incredibly food-motivated, which makes continued training both easy and rewarding. A few classes with her forever family will only help her confidence grow even more.
Most days, Pearl is a champion napper who is perfectly content snoozing, but give her a good chew toy and she’s in heaven. She’s sweet to her core and tries so hard to do the right thing. With a loving, patient home, Pearl isn’t just going to adjust – she’s going to absolutely thrive. 🐾
