Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle… that’ll be your first impression; your second will be to ADOPT ME! I’m a friendly, sweet, attentive, and darling girl who will warm your heart! I LOVE attention, affection, play, and exploring! I’d also love to play, play, play once I’m comfortable! I’ll need some basic training, plenty of affection and play time, and a cozy retreat. Let’s snuggle in together for the day, weekend, or whole week!

Kids: 8+, can be jumpy/mouthy

Dogs: Friendly, playful, can be vocal, may be too much for more sensitive dogs

Peep is so smart and attentive. She wants to learn, and loves to play, play, play! Her favorite toys are squeaky stuffies, which she doesn’t really tear up, and balls of all kinds. She will play fetch with you with either, graciously returning the toy to your hand or dropping it at your feet. I think she’s smart enough to learn the names of different toys and would love to play memory-fetch games.

Peep is a treat to walk; she doesn’t pull on the lead, instead slowing down if the leash gets taut. She’s constantly looking up at her human to confirm she’s doing the right thing. And when you praise her with a “good girl!” or “yes!”, you’ll earn some full-body wiggles from a very happy girl.

She is interested in my cat but doesn’t bark at him or chase him, instead letting him take the lead on any interaction he might want to have (which is little to none), and she respects his rejection. She doesn’t always respect the rejection my dog gives when she tries to engage him in play, but she’s easy to redirect to solo play with a toy. She also sat patiently in a crowded line for about 15 minutes to get a pup cup at Goodberry’s and didn’t bother the people around us.

She doesn’t like being left alone in her crate, and she’ll make some alarming noises for 15-20 seconds before settling, but would do well with a family who could keep her company through most of the day so crate time is minimal.

She’s a very sweet girl who needs some help managing her anxiety and learning to settle. Once she feels safe enough to settle, she’ll be the perfect house dog, whether she’s the one and only, or has a patient or playful dog sibling to help her manage her anxiety when her people are away.

More about Peep from a recent Doggy Day Out:

We enjoyed our time with Peep today! She’s a gorgeous girl and was friendly and eager to hop in the car and head out. She settled after about a minute and sat nicely, especially when getting some ear massages! We took a long walk with her on the greenway and then stopped downtown for a bit. She is inquisitive and loved to sniff.  She will follow her nose when allowed, but she was loose leash and will heel beside you without fuss. She’s observant and doesn’t miss much, but she took the new surroundings in stride well. We practiced her sit when one dog passed, and she was more interested in her anticipated treat than the dog. We passed by an approaching dog, and she kept her pace with one quick look back over her shoulder. She redirects well and is attentive — she checks in regularly when walking with a gaze up at her leash holder. She sits beautifully for treats and is very treat-motivated. She is interested in squirrels and birds especially, but she did not bark or pull toward them. She’s a sweet one!
