Personality Color: green

Green dogs are a bit more shy and sensitive, maybe a little anxious, but are sweet and they try hard. These dogs will flourish with patient adopters providing gentle guidance and confidence building. They are likely too timid for active homes with children, and would do best in a calm, quiet home getting the TLC they deserve.

I’ll shoot straight into your heart! I’m nervous and appeasing, but I try hard and get wiggly all over! I’m a little hand shy and get nervous when folks lean over me! I like treats, gentle affection, and gentle people. I’ll need patient and gentle people, confidence building, positive experiences and trust building exercises. Let’s explore together!

Rocket recently spent some time out of the shelter. Here’s what the humans have to say about him:

“I went hiking today with Rocket at Eno River and it was a blast! Mud and rain could not stop him from having an epic adventure. He seems to enjoy car rides and looking out the window to watch things zoom by. He was a little timid when we first got to the trail but once he got comfortable he was so excited to explore the new area and catch all the new scents and scenery. We saw a few people running/ jogging and Rocket thought they were the coolest and wanted to join in the fun (i.e., he seemed to pick up the pace whenever other hikers passed by us). I think he would be great for an active person. He also really liked being by the water. We spent some time just relaxing next to the river, listening to and watching the rushing water. He got plenty of treats and can’t wait for someone to take him on his next adventure!”
