IN FOSTER CARE

Sampson

Personality Color: green

Green dogs are a bit more shy and sensitive, maybe a little anxious, but are sweet and they try hard. These dogs will flourish with patient adopters providing gentle guidance and confidence building. They are likely too timid for active homes with children, and would do best in a calm, quiet home getting the TLC they deserve.

Bio data

Awoooo! Did you hear that?! Me Too! Sounds like the call of my kind! I’m a friendly, active, enthusiastic and busy guy who is a little anxious and vocal here at the shelter. I like soothing and gentle affection, treats, and being with people. I’ll need basic training and some leash manners. Can you help me learn new things?

Kids: 8+, jumpy, anxious, active

Dogs: curious and nervous, unsure, slow intros

Sampson is currently spending some time in foster care, here’s what the humans have to say about him:

  • Sampson is very friendly and loves meeting new people.  He is in the office with me today and has been engaged with everyone he meets.  Over the weekend he did great with the chaos of my house (multiple kids, dogs).  He is very active and enjoys walks and playing with toys.
  • Sampson loves other dogs and does very well engaging with them.  He picked up on the signals my older two females were giving him and just played chase games with them.  He also makes a great sniffing partner for them.  However, he met a pit-bull puppy and could handle some rougher play as well.  I never saw a sign that he was unsure about any dog he met.
  • He loves his crate and is sleeping in it now in my office.  He is VERY crate-trained and has slept in it each night.  He will often choose to just hang out in there.  He also has had no accidents in the house except for one pee accident at PetSmart but that seems to go with the territory there 🙂
  • He met the cat and was wary.  She hissed at him and he has chosen not to engage.  He is a smart boy.
