Sullivan
Personality Color: green
Green dogs are a bit more shy and sensitive, maybe a little anxious, but are sweet and they try hard. These dogs will flourish with patient adopters providing gentle guidance and confidence building. They are likely too timid for active homes with children, and would do best in a calm, quiet home getting the TLC they deserve.- male

Well hello there! My name’s Sullivan. What’s yours? I’m a curious, playful, sweet, and affectionate guy who can be nervous and insecure in new places! Go slow with me and you’ll soon see me come out of my shell! I like treats, chasing a ball, and gentle shoulder rubs! I’d benefit from basic training, confidence building, and positive experiences! Do you have a yard, I’d love to chase a ball there! Let’s go chase a ball today!
Kids: 8+, mindful of size, go slow, may guard food
Dogs: Easily overwhelmed by active dogs, prefers a gentle sniffing partner, slow intros
More about Sullivan from a volunteer:
I took Sullivan on the 3-mile Al Buehler Trail loop on our Doggy Day Out, and he did great! He doesn’t pull and prefers to walk right beside or just behind you. He was a little cautious around new people and dogs passing by (especially runners coming up from behind) but if anyone stopped to say hi, he warmed up instantly! Once he knows you’re friendly, he’s the sweetest love bug.
We also went to a Sniffspot where he got to play fetch with a tennis ball. He loved it and even brought the ball back every time! He also entertained himself tossing it around on his own. We finished the day with a pup cup since he’s very food-motivated. He’s such a goofy, affectionate boy.
