Foster takeovers are first hand stories from our APS volunteers introducing their foster pets and telling us their fostering journey.
“Hi everyone, we are Rebecca, Jorg and Sophia and we’re taking over the APS social media pages today to introduce you to Frido and show you his foster care journey with us! This was our first time fostering, and it was Sophia’s first time living with a pet. It was very special for us to foster Frido, especially during this difficult pandemic. He gave us a lot of love, entertainment and fun during these long and lonely days. We are excited to share some magical moments with you all and give you a glimpse into the fostering process.”
“Frido became a big fan of our hammock and likes to sit in it. When Sophia sleeps in the hammock, he sometimes join her or he sleep under it, waiting for Sophia to wake up.”
“We had a nice virtual meet and greet over zoom with the family that
is adopting Frido. They asked us many questions and we got Frido to play with us, cuddle a bit and show his personality to his potential new family. I think it’s great and necessary that the potential adopters get to see how the animal behaves, and in our case, how he interacted with our daughter, because the family also has children.”
Thanks to Rebecca, Jorge, and Sophia for sharing your fostering story with us and opening your home to Durham animals in need.
