That’s why APS is offering FREE pet ID tags during the month of June with our “Love ’em? Tag ’em!” campaign 🐾. Whether your pet’s ID tag has gone missing, you need to update your contact information, or this is your pet’s first tag, we’ve got you covered!
“Love ’em? Tag ’em!” offers all Durham County residents identification tags for their pets (up to three!) at no charge. Just fill out our quick online form with your and your pets’ information and the new tag(s) will be mailed to you straightaway! Because we care about your pets’ safety — and your peace of mind.

We said that getting your tags is absolutely free to you, and we meant it! As a nonprofit organization operating Durham County’s only open-admission animal shelter, this is a service we’re proud to offer to the community. We also offer discount spay & neuter services for cats and dogs to Durham residents, and we provide free pet food to partners such as the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels so it can be offered to community pet owners in need.
